This recipe uses walnuts instead of pine nuts and lots of Parmesan cheese. So my mother prepared pesto! It's really tasty, try it!

Ingredients (for 4 servings for 4 people)

Basil 150 gr.

Parmesan cheese 100gr.

Extra virgin olive oil 200 g.

Shelled walnuts 100 gr.

Salt to taste

Clean the basil by removing the stems and set aside only the leaves. Wash them well and put them to dry on a cloth.

Prepare the shelled walnuts and grate the Parmesan cheese.

Start preparing the pesto by putting the basil leaves, walnuts, Parmesan cheese last, oil and a pinch of salt in the blender glass.

Blend well trying to mix everything well and, if necessary, add a supplement of olive oil about 30-40 ml to make it even more homogeneous.

When it is ready, put the pesto in small containers, preferably glass, calculating 1 tablespoon per person each.

You can organize mini-portions that you can freeze and use as needed.

If you store it in the fridge, I recommend covering it with oil and you can use it within 1 week.

The pesto is ready and you can season any type of pasta.

I prepared the stale bread gnocchi (you can find the recipe here) and I seasoned them with this simple but very tasty pesto. Enjoy your meal!
