Tasty, simple to make, in this first course we combine the delicacy of the potato with the strong flavor of the pepper.

Ingredients (for 4 people)

Short fusilli 300 gr.

Peppers 300 gr. (about 2 peppers)

Potatoes 250 gr.

Extra virgin olive oil 50 gr.

Salt to taste

Basil to taste

1 medium onion

Bacon 50 gr.

Pecorino cheese to taste

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into chunks. Wash the peppers by removing the core, seeds and filaments contained inside and cut them into small pieces. Wash and chop the onion. Chop the bacon. Chop the basil.

Put the potatoes in a pot with plenty of water and salt and cook. From the boiling of the pot after 5 minutes you can add the pasta.

Put the oil in a pan with the onion and chopped bacon.

Gently brown.

Add the peppers and salt.

Cook over high heat and covered for 10 minutes. At the end of cooking, add the coarsely chopped basil.

Once the pasta is cooked al dente, drain it, keeping a little of the cooking liquid. Pour the pasta with the potato chunks into the pan with the sauce.
